What we do
One contractor, from the load calculation to the annual service
Most backup-power failures are decided long before the storm. A unit sized off square footage instead of a real load calculation. A transfer switch wired to the wrong circuits. A starting battery nobody has looked at in three years. All three are avoidable, and all three are cheaper to fix now than at 2am in February.
Armored Power Systems handles the whole chain. We measure what your property actually draws, design the system around it, pull the permits, pour the pad, wire the automatic transfer switch, test the thing under a simulated outage, and then come back to service it. That means one company is accountable when the utility drops, not three subcontractors pointing at each other.
If you already own a generator, the same crew handles repair and diagnostics and the scheduled visits under our maintenance plans. We work on units we did not install.

Eight ways we work on generators
Start wherever you are. Buying your first system, trying to work out what size you need, or standing in front of a machine that will not start.
Standby Generator Installation
A permanently installed system that starts on its own when the utility drops and runs the house until power returns.

Diagnostics and repair for units that will not start, shut down under load, or sit on a warning light.
See detailsGenerator Maintenance
Scheduled service that keeps the machine ready and the manufacturer warranty intact.
See detailsGenerator Sizing
A load calculation that decides how much generator your property actually needs — before anyone quotes a price.

The device that senses the outage, isolates the utility and decides which circuits come back on.

Why Armored Power Systems
The things worth checking before you hire anyone
Licensed electrical contractor
TECL #41587. Every generator integration and panel change is designed and installed under Texas Master Electrician oversight, because a standby system is a service-entrance job, not an appliance swap.
Generac Authorized Sales and Service Dealer
Dealer #1033043. Factory parts, factory documentation and factory-trained technicians on the brand we install most often.
Local and family-owned
We are based on US-281 in Santo and live in the same counties we work in. There is no regional call center between you and the person who did the install.
The first year of service is included
Every new generator installation includes your first full year of routine maintenance, free. After that you choose a plan, or you do not.
Service area
Where we work
Parker, Palo Pinto and Erath counties and the western edge of Fort Worth.
A lot of this territory is on well water and septic, sits at the end of a long rural feeder, and loses power for longer than the suburbs do when a line goes down. That changes how a system gets designed. Well pump starting current and two air-conditioning compressors dominate the sizing calculation on a property like that, and they are exactly the loads people forget to mention.
We cover Weatherford, Aledo, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks, Brock, Millsap, Springtown, Mineral Wells, Stephenville and Santo, along with the acreage in between. See the full list of service areas, or start with generator service in Weatherford and Aledo.
Common questions
Generator questions we get asked most
Straight answers on cost drivers, timelines and what we will and will not work on.
Do you install generators, or only service them?
Both. We install Generac and Kohler standby systems, and we service Generac, Kohler/Rehlko, Briggs & Stratton, Cummins, Champion and Honeywell units, including machines another company put in. A first visit on an unfamiliar unit starts with a full diagnostic so we know what we are looking after.
How long does a standby generator installation take?
The work on your property is usually measured in days rather than weeks. The overall timeline is set by permitting, utility and fuel-supply coordination and equipment availability, which is why we give you a schedule after the site assessment instead of guessing at it over the phone.
What does a whole-home standby generator cost?
It depends on the size of the unit, the type of transfer switch, how far the pad sits from your gas meter and electrical panel, whether trenching is needed, the condition of your existing panel, and the permits your jurisdiction requires. We put all of it in one written line-item estimate so you are not comparing a bare equipment price against another company’s full installed price.
Will you work on a generator another company installed?
Yes. A lot of our service work is on units whose original installer moved, closed or stopped answering. We start with a diagnostic to document the current condition, tell you plainly what it needs, and then you decide whether to repair it, put it on a maintenance plan, or both.
Which areas do you cover?
Parker, Palo Pinto and Erath counties and the western Fort Worth region. We are based in Santo, so the rural side of that territory is normal work for us rather than an exception.
Is financing available for a generator project?
Financing is available through multiple lenders, subject to credit approval. We can walk you through the options once you have an estimate in hand so you are applying against a real project number.
